Amazon MGM Studios’ Bray Studios plan should be approved

Amazon MGM Studios' Bray Studios Set for a Majestic Makeover

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is poised to greenlight Amazon's ambitious revamp of the iconic Bray Studios, promising a vibrant renaissance for the historic film site.

A Storied Past, A Bright Future

Once the haunt of Hammer Films, known for producing cult classics like The Mummy and The Curse of Frankenstein, Bray Studios' cinematic legacy is set to be reborn. Since Amazon's acquisition in 2024, the site has played host to blockbuster series such as The Rings of Power, envisioning a world-class hub for film production.

The Vision Unveiled

Amazon's blueprint for transformation includes a multi-storey car park, six new sound stages, and the refurbishment of the Grade II listed Down Place House as a production office, blending function and allure in a thriving employment hub.

A Community Cornerstone

Beyond the cinematic landscape, plans include introducing a shuttle service for production teams to nearby train stations, reinforcing the site's integration with the local community. This project aims not just to honor the studio's storied past, but to craft a pivotal resource for the region's economic and cultural future.
