Team USA's basketball prowess is set to soar with the addition of three influential mindsâMark Daigneault, JB Bickerstaff, and Mark Fewâaimed at guiding the national team to new heights.
Coaching Bench Stars
In an exciting development, Oklahoma City's Mark Daigneault, Detroit's JB Bickerstaff, and Gonzaga's seasoned Mark Few are all slated to join Erik Spoelstra as assistant coaches for Team USA. While Few brings a decade's worth of Team USA experience, this will mark the inaugural experience for Daigneault and Bickerstaff on the international coaching stage.
Chasing Victory
These strategic coaching additions come as Team USA prepares to compete in the World Cup qualifiers this August, setting their sights on the 2027 World Cup in Qatar. The team has already secured its spot for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, poised to leverage home-field advantage.
Paving New Paths
Daigneault and Bickerstaff have quickly become respected figures in the NBA, leading their teams to standout successes. Daigneault's Thunder topped the NBA in wins and clinched the 2025 championship, while Bickerstaff's Pistons surged to an Eastern Conference-best 60 wins last season.
"The addition of these talented coaches brings a dynamic mix of experience and innovation," said Spoelstra.
